Thought for Today: Holy Spirit Power for Today – Part 11

Do you feel weak spiritually, mentally, physically?
Do you have the Holy Spirit Power?

Jesus said we needed His Holy Spirit POWER! I don’t know about you –
but I need power to live each day. God has promised us His POWER!
Jesus said we would RECEIVE POWER when the Holy Spirit has come
upon us.
Acts 1:4-8 NKJV
4 And being assembled together with [them], He commanded them not
to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which,"
[He said], "you have heard from Me;

5 "for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."

6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, "Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?"

7 And He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.

8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.".

Thought for today: Why are you living without power if you don’t have to? Ask Jesus to be your Lord and ask Him to fill you with His power! He is the One who baptizes us with the Holy Spirit and power!

Thought for Today - Spirit of God - 

Power for Living - Part 10

Today we are talking about the Holy Spirit and POWER!

Jesus said to His disciples that they were NOT to leave Jerusalem until they received POWER to be His witnesses.  He said to them; "...stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high."

Luke 24:49 NIV
"I am going to send you what my Father has promised;
but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high."

We somehow think that we can do things "on our own" or "by ourselves." But, the Lord knows, since He is the Creator of all of us, that we need HELP!

We need power from on HIGH! We need the Lord's power to be effective witnesses for Him. We need power to live godly lives. We need power to resist the lies of the enemy. We need power to do His will!

Here's what He told us that we can do by the power of His Spirit....

Mark 16:17-20 NKJV
17 "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

18 "they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

19 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.

NOTE: In verse 20 - the Lord says, "And the Lord confirmed His WORD with accompanying signs."

20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with [them] and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.

Today's thought - If you feel powerless - ask the Lord to save you and fill you with His Spirit!

Thought for Today – How to Have Spiritual Discernment – Part 9

The Holy Spirit of God searches and knows all things. Your spirit knows all things about you. Our natural mind cannot comprehend the things of the Spirit.

10 But God has revealed [them] to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

13 These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.

15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is [rightly] judged by no one.

16 For "who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?"

But we have the mind of Christ. - 1 Corinthians 2:10-16 NKV

We have to have the Spirit of God in us to discern the things of the Spirit. To receive the Spirit of God - you must be "born of the Spirit". If you want to be born “of the Spirit” you must receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 

6 "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 

7 "Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' 

... 16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. - John 3:5-7, 16 NKJV 

Pray this prayer:

“Jesus, I believe that God sent You to the earth to die on the Cross for my sins. I’m sorry for my sins. I want to be forgiven. I believe You rose from the dead and are seated in Heaven. I ask You to come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I ask You to fill me with the Holy Spirit and power so that I can live for you and have spiritual discernment. Thank You for saving, healing and delivering me today. Amen.”

Thought for Today – Part 8 – How to be Led by the Spirit of God!

The Spirit of God wants to lead you!

According to Romans 8 – if you are a child of God, it is expected that you are led by the Spirit of God!

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out,  "Abba, Father." - Romans 8:14-15 NKJV

According to Proverbs 3 – the Lord promises that if we trust Him and we don’t try to figure everything out, but instead ACKNOWLEDGE HIM in ALL our WAYS – He will direct our path.

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;

6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV

Take action: Say, “Lord, I’m sorry for trying to direct my own life. Please take my life and lead me. I will trust You to take care of me. You are my Abba, Father. I love you. I have faith that You are directing my path. Amen.”

Pastor Linda's Thought for Today - God wants to use you to cast out demons by the Spirit of God!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY – The Spirit of God and Casting Out Demons – Part 7

Jesus came to earth as a human being. He laid down His deity and became a man.

And as a man He would have to be dependent upon the Spirit of God  - just like you and me.

Jesus cast out demons by the Spirit of God and so can you – because the Spirit of God lives in you, if you are a child of God.

Matthew 12:26-28 NKJV
26 "If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?

27 "And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast [them] out? Therefore they shall be your judges.

28 "But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you."

The thought for you to think about today: God wants to use you to cast out demons and set people free, by the Spirit of God. If you don’t have the Spirit of God – you can! Ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior and ask Him to fill you with His Spirit and live for Him!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY – THE PURPOSE OF THE
HOLY SPIRIT’S ANOINTING – Part 6

Jesus laid down His deity to become a man and became empowered by Spirit of God - just as we are to do!

When the Holy Spirit anoints us – He has a purpose. Here’s HIS PURPOSE for anointing Jesus and God’s purpose for anointing US – JESUS’ BODY in the earth – that’s YOU!  Here’s what’s the ANOINTING of God is for:

1.    Preaching good news to the poor!
2.    Healing the brokenhearted!
3.    Proclaiming liberty to the captives!
4.    Opening of the prison to those who are bound!
5.    Doing GOOD!
6.    Healing ALL who were oppressed of the devil!

Isaiah 61:1 NKJV
"The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to [those who are] bound;"

Acts 10:38 NKJV –
"how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."

The THOUGHT for TODAY is: God’s purpose for you to be anointed by His Spirit is the same purpose as it was for Jesus – to set people FREE from the oppression of the devil.
